Sit down for breakfast, stand up for farmers! 29 February - 13 March.
'As Martin Luther King famously said, ‘before you finish eating breakfast in the morning, you’ve depended on more than half the world’. Despite our dependence on farmers and workers for the foods, drinks and products that we love, about 795 million people are undernourished globally.'
It's that time of year again - Fairtrade Fortnight is here and this year the theme is all about breakfast! Fairtrade Fortnight sets aside two weeks every year in which both the ethics and products of Fairtrade are promoted. This is always such a great cause that people of all ages within the community can get involved with to help highlight the links between consumers and producers.
This year they are encouraging campaigners to inspire 'Big Fairtrade Breakfasts' in their community in the hope of raising awareness to the challenges facing farmers and workers. Fairtrade recognise that when people are paid a fairer price, they have more control over their lives during harder circumstances meaning they worry less about how they will feed their families. Fairtrade makes it possible for farmers and workers to fulfill a basic human need that many take for granted - to simply have enough food on the table all year round! Not only for themselves but for the people they care about most.
As an ethical brand with the same outlook for our chain of people we work with, we wanted to get involved in our own way and offer a discount code of 15% off to all our followers.
