In the autumn of 2015, Beaumont Organic was proud to announce its first and only current stockist in the capital of Scotland, Edinburgh – www.padlifestyle.com. PAD Lifestyle is a collection of beautifully unique furniture, homeware, art, fashion and lifestyle brands from all over the world, available exclusively in Edinburgh or worldwide via their website. The team at PAD are proud to travel far and wide to source the chicest and most unique home and fashion brands from across the globe, and offer an edit of cool and collectable designs from international brands, independent labels and their very own range of bespoke, limited edition furniture.
This month, we decided to catch up with Anna, the founder or PAD Lifestyle to hear her opinion on some important topics here at Beaumont Organic, some personal insights and her favourite pieces from the summer collection!
1) In what ways do you aim to be sustainable/eco friendly in your daily life?
In business I deal with so much cardboard and packaging every day, so we make sure this is all recycled. We also use eco-boxes for shipping our online orders and recycled materials for our carrier bags and wrapping in store too. It sounds simple but it is a really important part of what we do. I do also work with many brands and designers that are ecologically aware and it's always great to introduce customers to the amazing organic, vegan, ethical and sustainable products out there.
2) Do you think the fashion Industry is changing for the better?
Yes, I think it's important for eco-friendly and sustainable brands to continue to grow and show that the out-dated view of these labels are just not true. So many more customers are aware of eco-fashion these days, and with labels like Beaumont Organic, it's proof that wearing eco does not mean sacrificing style and quality. You can find amazing, contemporary design and contribute to progressing towards a more eco-friendly world at the same time.
3) What Beaumont piece best describes your personal style?
Well there's two! The first is the Lizzy Reversible Dress. I’m a jeans and a top kind of girl really, but this piece is ideal for slipping on over skinny jeans and flats for a day time boho look, but I would also wear it with tights and heels for a business meeting or dinner. A beautiful, simple cut.
The other is the Renee Lurex Knitted Jumper. I'm so in love with this piece, with a subtle shimmer through the knit it’s a glorious colour and really soft on the skin too. Not too plain featuring an urban cut, but not too flash with the metallics either. Subtle, comfortable, cool.
4) What has been your greatest fashion indulgence?
My new Louis Vuitton Babylone bag, it's just heaven!
5) What is on your bucket list for 2016?
- Have a holiday with my family in New York where we are currently renovating an apartment.
- Create our very own organic easy chic and fit fashion range... stay tuned!
- Collaborations with more amazing designers, artists and creators.
- Oh, and get back into the marathon game!
6) What is the best advice you've ever been given?
To be yourself and reach for the stars. My late father was a hard working family man with great aspirations for his children. Although he sadly didn’t see us grow up beyond our late teens/early twenties and while we are all very different to each other as siblings, my father's advice was to be true to what you love and whatever your chosen paths in life, anything is possible if you work hard and believe in yourself.
7) If you were on a desert island and granted three items, what would they be?
My husband, my son and my labradoodle – she can catch the fish!
8) And finally, what is your key Beaumont investment piece for Spring/Summer 16?
That would definitely be the Mia Luxury Jumpsuit. It’s so versatile – super glam with vibrant pair of heals, jewels and a clutch at night and comfortable and trendy with sandals or trainers for a hip look during the day.
That’s all from Anna, but make sure you check out their website www.padlifestyle.com and keep up to date with their latest arrivals. You can also follow them on Facebook or Instagram to see what they're up to, and if you ever find yourself in the Scottish capital, be sure to pop in and say hello! Here's a couple of extra photos of their beautiful Edinburgh boutique.
