"I must have walked down Oldham Street thousands of times whilst living in Manchester, and every time I walk past the restaurant Ning, I always comment on how delicious it smells! Having never been to a Malaysian restaurant I didn't really know what to expect. I thought I might be stuck for choice, but I have never been so spoilt! For appertisers, we chose Thai fish cakes and Masalodeh - which is lentil fritters with onions, chillies, cumin and fresh curry leaves. For my main, I chose a wok-fried dish called Kuey Teow Goreng - which is thick rice noodles fried with soy sauce, chilli sauce, beansprouts and your choice of chicken, seafood, prawn of tofu.My partner chose the dish Ayam Percik - which is a chargrilled marinated chicken breast on a bed of spinach served with the chef's special curry sauce. I must admit, after having tried his dish, I was left a little jealous but still enjoyed mine all the same.
The flavours were amazing and the meals were beautifully presented, along with the staff being very welcoming and attentive. The whole restaurant impressed me and we will definitely be returning to try more of their dishes! Thank you to Ning for a lovely evening. If you're local to Manchester, then I would definitely recommend seeing what they have to offer - especially if you love spicy foods!
