Laura’s get-away tips for the city of romance: Paris.

Posted on June 10 2014

Our lovely Laura has not long got back from having been swept off her feet by her man Ste for her birthday. Having gone to all the local tourist haunts she came back fully refreshed and with some beautiful pictures. Here are her top 5 tips for a trip to Paris..

Al Fresco: Outdoor fun along the Seine

Take a picnic and a bottle of what you fancy to the riverside and play the free giant games. There many free super scale games to be played all along the Seine. From checkers to giant chess its all free, all fun and for all the family. With a relaxed atmosphere there is nothing stopping you having a little al fresco lunch for two – a great way to save the pennies too!

Don’t be afraid of heights: The Eiffel Tower

A trip up the Eiffel tower is an absolute must when visiting the French capital. Take the €15 trip (adult price) up to the perfect view point for photo opportunities.

A Feast for the eyes : Street performers and modern art

Go to the pompidou centre for modern art and get more for free! Not only can you access the majority of the gallery with no admission but the entertainment from street performers outside provides even more to feast your eyes upon – and for free!

Latin quarter : Street Food

When the sun is shining there is nothing better than sampling some tasty grub from stalls on the pretty streets of the Latin quarter- much of the produce organic (which of course we love!) Tasty pizza, cured meats, cheese – there’s something for everyone and a great budget saving way to entertain the foodies!

It’s not just for kids: Disneyland

They experienced all the main rides and ended the day with a magnificent firework display that absolutely blew them away. Having been a little anxious that they may feel out of place and a little on the older side amongst the parks young revelers they were pleasantly surprised by how little age mattered. Let your inner child free and go for it – you’ll be surprised by how much fun you can have!

City escapes are a lovely way to have a quick get away with your loved one. Lots to do and see and can be done on a budget if you need. We love to share our teams trips here at Beaumont HQ, full of inspiration and fun! xx
