Lemon, Apple Cider Vinegar & Hot Water
In my late teens, I suffered from IBS. At one point it felt like nothing agreed with my stomach so I set about finding ways to make my stomach and ultimately my gut healthier. I am no nutritionist but by learning and trying I can confirm that if you have gut issues just introducing this in the morning before any food will help.
Drinking this each morning, as soon as you wake up and before you put anything else in your stomach, stimulates digestion, expels toxins from the liver and supports your digestive enzymes for a busy day ahead.
After a good night's sleep, your body has been fasting. This is how the words 'break' and 'fast' come together (hence, breakfast).
Deciding how to begin breakfast, or break your fast, is one of the most important parts of your day. It has lasting effects that will determine your energy levels for the day ahead (amongst other benefits).
The benefits of starting with this drink include:
* Aiding digestion
* Flushing out toxins
* Helping with absorbing nutrients later in the day
* Supporting skin health
The Recipe:
* If you have good organic lemons, finely peel the skin back and place in the mug. (If your lemons are less fragrant simply slice off a chunk and add to your mug.)
* Add a little squeeze of lemon juice
* Add 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar (be sure to find and order one with mother - a few options are pictures in the photos above)
* Add hot water
